About the role

You will work in a small team on platforms that people use every day: portals, dashboards, booking systems and the integrations behind them. We care more about how you reason about a problem than about how many frameworks you can name.

Most of our work is Laravel with MySQL, a Vue or Blade front end, and AWS underneath. You will see a feature from the first conversation through to release.

What you will do

• Design, build and test features across the stack in Laravel
• Write migrations and queries that stay fast as data grows
• Review your colleagues’ pull requests, and have yours reviewed
• Take part in estimation and say plainly when something is bigger than it looks
• Help keep the deployment pipeline and test suite healthy

What we are looking for

• Two or more years building applications with Laravel in production
• Confident with relational data modelling and query performance
• Comfortable writing automated tests — not necessarily test-first
• Familiar with Git workflows and code review
• Able to explain a technical trade-off to someone non-technical
